This morning I felt another little shift. My body is relaxing into winter, rather than hoping for one last warm autumn day.

I finally finished the draft of Debbie’s new intro, and I hope her editor likes it. Writing this has been an emotional struggle. I was asked to share something personal, yet her death is still fresh, and I feel protective of both Debbie and our relationship. I could never betray our conversations or the intimate process she went through when leaving her physical body. And neither Debbie’s life nor her work lend themselves to superficial comments. She was extraordinary in her capacity to dig deep into the psyche and pull up pain that needed to be released. Her work needs to be experienced to be fully understood, and words can’t come close to doing it justice. Still I hope I’ve managed to contribute in some small way to the ongoing success of her book.

Now I’m free to work on other projects and continue with this journal. Winter is a good time to write, a time when the energy of the world is a bit dimmer and less intrusive.
